Hello, I think I might have a problem here. When I spyderdrop my spyderco persian (backlock) at a moderate speed, I hear 2 clicks when it locks and it feels quite weird when it happens. The blade locks up still but I'm afraid it might cause a problem in the future. I got the knife the other day by the way.

Thanks.

Edit: This happens not every time. It varies.

you hold the hole of the knife with your thumb and finger and flick your wrist so the handle comes down and it locks.

Ok, thanks. I've done that before but never knew it had a name. Learn something new everyday.

does the Persian have a half-stop, or a notch that holds the blade open at about the halfway point? None of my Spydies have one, but the Gerber EZ Out has one, and when opening fast you do get a clickclick sound.

No I don't think the spydie has a halfstop. I actually managed to get the lock to fail doing this so im almost positive now that it is a locking defect. I'm sending it in for a replacement.

Sounds like a question for big Sal, I'm suprised he has'nt seen this thread and
answered it. He may be in B.F.E. and can not get to the internet. When he
does se it he will give your question an answer.
