2 cool old Japanese swords. Samurai?

I don't know if I can get these pics to come up but if I can I'd appreciate any input on these 2 swords I recently purchased.

I was told they were from 1930-1940 Japan. Does anybody know anything about this type of sword?

Are they usually Damascus or no?

Guess on Value, quality, age, maker etc is more than welcome.

I've done it and I've gotten a few responses.

The only thing I know about Samurai type swords is that I've always wanted one (but not the crappy knockoff kind).
