Took the knife apart this p.m. Just seemed like I could smooth it out with a little tetra, not that it was bad just could be smoother. What a friggin mistake this was. I don't know if any of you own the old school MOD knives. They use a round pivot that just kind of sits there. Well the C E uses the same type of engineering fixtures as standoffs in the handle. Not only that the female ends are way to small as in overall diameter(ie0 skinnny). What this means is that you have a very good chance of cross threading the screws. Not a big deal until you try and remove to correct for a about a 1 thread cross.

Talk about an exasperating experience. I would finally get one out and start to thread another and bingo cross thread. Not only is that easy to do but because they are a round female end sitting in a round hole there is nothing for purchase/grip to tighten to. They just will spin round and round and round.....

So I put a call into Wilson Tactical and ask the fella how it is one would put the C E back together without going nuts. Well first off don't take it apart in the first place. Secondly you need to use a good amount of pressure on the back side to keep the standoff screw receptacle from spinning around inside the actual stand off collar. Well how does one do that, I'll tell ya how one does that and that is with a big friggin honkin pair of good ol American vise grips. The knife is a user anyhow right?

Nope none of this worked for me. Can you belive it?! You know what I found kind of serendipitously-tighten the front pivot screw down and for some reason that seemed to hold the ti frame together with just enough pressure to screw the screws into the standoffs. Weird but true....keepem sharp

Thanks for the review and the update, I've been interested in this brand since they were introduced.

Also sorry to hear about your frustration. I usually don't like taking anything brand new apart, but I have ... and I know it's a PITA.
