2 dot 110 - can Buck fix slight wobble or would they replace?

I was going through my Dad's knife collection over the weekend and his old 110 (2dots as in .110. - this is "2dot" correct?) is in good shape but has a bit of lateral blade wobble. It could use a buffing on the brass as well. Would anyone know how likely it is Buck can fix the wobble? I'd like it to be tight like the other Bucks he left me, but don't want them to swap it out either. The wobble isn't bad, just irritatingly noticeable compared to the others which lock up like bank vaults.

Thanks,

-Calvin

I'm betting on them fixing it and not replacing it. A quick e-mail to Joe Houser would get you the answer to that.

I would guess they could fix it and if not, they woudl reblade it rather than replace. I would rather have a rebladed 2 dot than a replacement brand new. I love the ebony.

I bought a new model 110 that had a slight wobble(damn clambshell packaging, you can't handle them first).I wrapped the front bolster in a leather work glove and gently tightened in a vice. It's a little stiffer now,but has zero wobble. It should break in with use.

You can fix the wobble yourself, if you have a decent bench vise and something smooth (block of wood, pieces of sheet metal, etc.) to make a flat surface to contact the knife handle.

I'll bet Buck will tighten it up for you, if you ask. They'll also most likely buff it all up nice & shiny, too, if you say "please."

I'm not sure if I understand the above, if the original 2 dot blade needed to be replaced, they would replace with another 2 dot?

Thanks,

Calvin

No, they do not have 2 dot blades available.

Sounds like your blade is ok anyway. If they replace a blade they replace it with a new blade.

Give them a call at the phone # on the website (top of Buck Forum page) and they will answer all your questions.

Send any special instructions or requests in with the knife.

Calvin, if your blade is still fill length and the lockup is solid fore and aft , and there is side to side play only; your knife should be easily repairable by Buck.
E-mail Joe or call Buck before sending it in. They will answer your concerns.
Also if you send it in include a note. On that note include any specific instructions like(for me) I put Do Not Sharpen!
Or if there is sentimental value to the knife.
You won't be dissapointed by their Great Customer service.
