Two Bagwell hunting knives
Hi Joe and BFC folks, here is a pic of a couple of Bagwell hunters with stag handles. On the left is Bill O'brien, my brother in law and his drop point knife that has skinned three deer and an Elk and is still keen, on the right is me and the knife Bill Bagwell sent me last week. Both knives have brass ferrule thong holes for lanyards to avoid loss but their blades differ slightly in shape. Bill explained that the drop point works well for game preparation and the point on my new hunter will work well for caping game... Bill offered to make my hunter with either style so I opted for the one pictured and I am really impressed with it's good looks and its blade looks stout enough to handle camping chores. I believe that the way Bill shaped the spine and belly are what give it such an excellent feel in hand, that it was designed to work with you but still make chopping cuts easy. Proven performance is the continuing practice at Bill Bagwell's knifeworks, the result of ongoing R&D in his quest to raise the bar. There are some more knives to review and on the way here so I will keep JP apprised. Also thanks again to Joe for posting and everyone for viewing! Sincerely Bob Furusho
