One would be a dedicated kitchen knife. I'm thinking a 5" blade, 4 1/2" handle made from 3/32" stock.Convexed edge with no secondary bevel.

I have a design in mind,I'll try and get a pic up this week !

The second I'd like to see would be a' womans ' knife. Something like maybe a 3" blade, 3 1/2" handle with pink micarta slabs. 1/8" or 3/32" stock.

What's ya thoughts ????

I think that your idea is like an EDK--Every Day Kitchen knife. Sounds like it would work great for pretty much anything you need to do in the kitchen. As for the second knife, when I read "woman's knife" I immediately thought about an ulu, but that works too :P

Personally, I'd kind of like to see a JK adaptation of a Japanese chisel-ground gyuto for the kitchen. I can't afford to buy any more knives than the one I have ordered for March, though, so I won't be seeing that for a while (if ever, since I don't know if John would even be willing to do a chisel grind).

You have described the knife I`m making for MidwestDave, except it will be a scandi grind.

Cool concept Pit. Sort of Santuko meets cleaver.

I generally like a longer blade in the kitchen: 7-8". My favorite Chef's knife is 10".

hi pitdog -

Now that would be a great kitchen knife! I could see myself using that for almost all chopping and cutting needs in food prep.

I like the way the handle is slightly curved - it shows that you know how to put a knife to use.

thanks for posting the picture.

best regards -
