2 layer wood handles

Does anyone have a photo of a handle they made by gluing 2 different wood slabs together, where the top wood is more narrow than the bottom?

I have some very thin blanks of cocobolo, satinwood and others. I think it would look cool to take a 1.5" wide blank of cocobolo and glue a 3/4" wide blank of a lighter wood on top, then round the whole handle so it gives the effect of an insert. I'm worried about the transition seam between the two woods.

Does this make sense and does anyone have an example? Just stacking one wood on top of a different one doesn't do much for me if they are the same width. Thanks for any replies.

Thanks, Rusty Now I think I'll reverse the woods. I like the dark rosewood over the light maple. I still want the top later narrower to show more of the bottom layer. It looks like the transition of the woods is seamless on Fiddleback's handle.

I have laminated claro walnut and maple and it works just fine . I epoxy the pieces together then use them like a set of scales. I have even taken some real nice ebony and lamitanted it to maple. I try to stay away from maple cuzz it s hard to polish up with out staining. kellyw
