Is there a way to do 2 letter searches?

What I'm doing is trying to search the makers' s forums for threads on specific steel types and the search feature doesn't like 2 letter searches - too short. e.g., L6, O1, D2, ETC...

Try using the word "steel" or some other word that would be within the context of your letter search.

The problem with that is that adding "steel" to the search gives you 40 pages of threads that contain the word "steel" in them some where. I have not found any way to do a search using specific boolean operators. The forum search engine seems permanentl locked in a "or" state.

Some time back (2008), Spark posted a link to a customized Google search, configured to search the BladeForums domain only, in post #8 in this 'Sticky' thread from the Tech Support page:

Since the Google engine is driving it, it seems to work with 2-letter searches, providing the standard search box into which you can type in your query. Here's the link itself; bookmark it into your browser and it'll be available when needed:

The search function here can give you a whole lot of info that you don't need.

I have found it works much better if you go to Advance Search. It then gives you two main options to search. Search Multiply Content Types and Search Single Content Types. The Search Single allows you to look in individual forums and has a few other items to narrow the search down.

I don't know if it will help with the two letter search that you're asking but with nearly everything else it is much easier to use.
