Just noticed today that my 2 month old CQC8 blade is slanted while folded. It deviates towards the side im assuming from my thumb pushing the blade in that direction to deploy. It now makes contact with the liner on deployment. The blade used to sit flush. What do you guys think?

Try tightening the pivot a little. In my experience Emersons often lean off center (have owned 75 or so over the years).

You've tightened the pivot and it hasn't helped at all? Check body screws and tighten from butt of knife towards the pivot.

Yea, remove the pocket clip, loosen all the body screws and pivot but not to the point where they come out. Tighten from the farthest screw, going closer to the pivot. See if that helps.

Check the secondary detent ... I have noticed that sometimes its pushing out to far and sets the blade off center, (at least in my experience) hopefully that will help!

One new cqc 8 I handled was slightly off center, and one used jungle cqc 8 I've seen was the same way. Neither were so off center that the blade rubbed the liner, so I've been satisfied. The commander and cqc 7 I've seen were perfectly centered, and some of my other knives became off center over time. I just chalk up the cqc 8's quirks to the length of the blade.

I called Zmerson today and spoke with Rachael who explained that when one takes apart an Emerson the blade can lean if one does not put it together right.

"Here is what she said.

I should loosen the grips screws until they are very loose but not falling out. Then loosen the pivot 1 1/2 times from where you wanted it. Then open the knife.

Now tighten the grip screws from bottom up and then tighten the pivot. Then close the blade.....IT WORKED!"

Thats the solution. Thanks for the help everyone.

Awesome, and a very satisfying feeling to (1.) realize the competence of the company in question, and (2.) gain a little bit of knowledge about your knife that will benefit you and anyone you share it with in perpetuity.

I'm not rich so I gotta watch what I buy but Emerson's make my very short list due to the community and the customer service! This is just another story with a happy ending!
