I would love to go to something like that. I don't suppose you could move it to Springfield, Mo could you? :D

Heck its 550 miles each way for me and 750 each way for you. Come on down and call it a vacation. The is a ton of things to do in this area. I'm taking a week off myself. I might tak longer if my money hols up.

There are no fees to attend. The people that own the campground are some very nice people. I had failed to inform them of a schedule change and it turned out that the pavilion was reserved for one of the days that we had wanted to use it. They had been slowly working on building a pole barn that suddenly became a priority for them to finish, just so we wouldn't be without a good place to work.

As far as the folks that are coming lets see.

Sandy Morrisey-- The grand gentleman of sheath making. Sandy Has been working leather longer than I've been walking. and I'm old:D

Carl Reichsteiner-- One heck of a bladesmith and a very knowledgeable guy on many subjects. You should see his miniatures. Wow!!

Me -- I just the jackass that thought the event up.

Jerry Hossom- He comes to make fun us.;)

Chuck Fogarty-- Chuck is an aspiring bladesmith that makes some nice traditional style hunters and skinners

Rob Frinks-- Rob will be bringing some equipment for us to try out.

This is just part of the list of folks that came last year. Sandy has been e-mailing and calling other makers in the area.

We dont really plan any demos. It just turns out to be one big demo.

Sandy does do a sheath making demo that is worth the trip by any means.

i am hoping to be able to make it to this one, will we need to bring anything? steel, forge, anvil, hammers, etc??? can we bring friends that have never even thought about making a knife? :D are kids allowed or is there an age limit? if you can give me all the info you can i will pass it on to a couple friends that may come along also. :D

Bring whatever you want Terry, the more the better. Everyone is welcome to come. i believe a boy-scout troop may be coming by for a bit if i remember correctly. No experience is necessary. Everything is very informal and just plain fun. Plus there are horses and a pond for the kiddies and adults. Steel is always good to have just in case or any other types of consumables makes life easier but is not a must.
come on down you wont regret it.
