The wharncliff whittler is one of Dan Burk's in BG42. It is of course a split-backspring.

The Norfolk Jack is by Joel Chamblin. Exceptional work on both of these knives. I was pretty lucky at Blade to pick up 4 very nice slip-joints. Folks our little knives are not dead as far as popularity. These guys sell out fast.

Both knives are great, but my preference is the whittler. It has a wharncliffe main blade and as far as I am concerned that is the perfect choice.

The fit and finish looks to be excellent on both knives.

Your getting a bunch of those customs.Going to have to get a few more and catch up.:)
Those are beauties.
Love the Norfolk.Rare for a knifemaker to make one.

Hi Randy, a couple of M.S. daggers were put off until next year so except for Audra's dagger and a Brend it was a slip joint Blade show for me as far as purchases :).

Next week promises to be a good one compliments of Bailey and his work on a whittler :D Stay tuned.

That Norfolk is a beauty. He (Joel IMO) is one of the best out there.I have 5 or six of his goodies including one of his splitbacks.(one of my faves)
Again,thanks for the pics.
Any chance on you getting a few of the slip dudes one of those Case pruners at a decent rate? Had to ask.:o

Yup email me. And we will put together an order at whatever they cost.
There is another guy who asked me about them.

sweeet...i like the shield. my preference is the whittler. i've been considering a Case Seahorse.

as for popularity, i frequently show my father my new knives. he just kind of grins at my 'tac' knives and pulls his 20-30 year old Buck (buffalo slabs, iirc) stockman out of his pocket and tells me "this knife is older than you, and it's all i've ever needed". but he is eyeing some of my french slipjoints.

the moral..there will always be a market for 'just a plain old working knife'.

Hi Gus, those are great. Dan picked up a great set of old Remington Bone at the show. He is going to make me one of my half whittlers.

Gus check your email.

Forget about Moderator. we're gonna have to name you King of the Custom Slip Joints.

I like the Burk whittler also.

Wow, those are both great, but that Norfolk Pattern is :D:). The whole combination of the frame, fancy bolsters, etc.... is just great:).

 Stunning! The Wharnie is beatiful! Never heard of a Norfolk pattern before it too is a beaut. Is the Norfolk and old pattern?

Gus, Nice Knives. Joel Chamblin's work just stands out.
D. Burke has learned a lot from T. and R.Bose.
I have a lot of old Remington Slipjoint patterns and have never seen scales like they are calling old Remington Bone. I see it on the Burke Knife but not Joel's.
Regards,
D.Parker

Norfolk - it is an old pattern from the Sheffield era.

Joel's work - what the picture does not show is how clean the knife is on the inside.

Wow..that Jack is awesome...check out that clip point!   Still, I like the whittler too. The more I see the "seahorse" pattern the more I like it...may be one in the works soon. I better be careful...my tactical folders may be gettin' jealous!
