These were part of the "blow off some steam" work that the other utility knife was part of.

Top knife is stabilized birdseye maple, and bottom knife is stabilized CA Buckeye burl (this one has a small swedge grind on it)
Both have 416 domed pins and lanyard liners.

These are fun for me to make, and a nice little break from bowies and fighters. Thanks for looking. :) BTW- I really scrubbed my hands this time... ;) :)

Really like those a lot Nick (blade shape and overall profile)!

Where'd you get the Buckeye? Just finishing one and the customer supplied Buckeye was horrible.

Definitely better looking without the integral guard thing going on...
Scrubbed or not, you have a beautiful (hand) model living in the house - use her!

HaHa.... Thanks guys :)

David- This piece came from Mark at BurlSource--- some of the best I've had. It's super solid and with the classic Buckeye color.

Michael- Man, I was really looking forward to seeing you. Did you guys not come out this way? My hand model is off at the salon getting her hair did... since I don't have to worry about that anymore, I was free to do the job. ;) :D

Very slick, Nick. I think the subtle swedge gives this otherwise fairly plain design a nice added touch.

I really like these knives. Very, very nicely done, Nick.

Although simple, basic knives like these are a lot easier to make than the bigger, more complex knives, they can actually be very difficult to do really well. Perhaps because there's a lot less stuff there to distract you from what is, simply, a knife.

By the way, I like the domed pins too - nice little detail.

I like how you put that little cutout (I don't know what it's called) at the bottom of the ricasso instead of the end of the blade. Makes the whole blade still useful while allowing sharpening of the whole blade as well. Such a simple tweak from how things are usually yet makes so much sense.

I like the way the handle meets up toward the choil on the maple one most, (although I'd like it better if it came right up to the choil), and I like the subtle swedge of the buckeye unit. Domed pins are excellent 'upscalers' and this pattern is very nice.
