It's been a while since I've posted any pictures so I thought I'd show you all a couple pieces I've done recently. These two knives are the first to be marked with my JS stamp so I'm a little excited about them. They were both ordered from people who wanted something similar to one of my JS test knives. Both of these are 1095 with blued mild steel guards and stabilized maple burl handles. The shorter knife has an 8.5 inch blade and the longer has a 10.5 inch blade.

Thanks for looking!

Those look absolutely solid. :) I like 'em. You're letting the form do the work in the aesthetics department, with the burl touching it off.

Whenever I go to the Blade Show, I am always looking out for a new maker or two to follow.

This past year I was lucky enough to come across Mike Deibert's work (No thanks to Jason Knight, MS) and purchase one of his JS Test knives, a sweet little Bird & Trout. His work is crispy and clean and I would recommend it to you.

Love your stuff Mike! I can't wait to see what you're making a few years from now. :)

A thumbs up from Mr. Gill doesn't come easily... he has a keen eye and very discerning taste... high praise for sure Mike.

Seconded. I also picked up one of his knives at the last Blade Show. In fact, it was the only knife I bought there. I had a couple of deliveries there from previous orders and I had purchased several knives in the weeks leading to the show, so I really did not plan to buy anything there. But it was such a screaming value that I could not resist. Plus he seems like a real good guy.

Mike, they are both good looking knives. I like the maple handles.

Thanks for the compliment Peter. I really liked that little knife and I'm glad it went home with someone who appreciates it. Hopefully we can meet up again at Blade 2013.

Funny, I still think about that integral that you bought. I hated to see it go but in the end carrying cash back to Nicaragua was far easier to pay the rent with. Thank you for the compliments!

Thanks Nick. I feel like preparing for the JS test only opened my eyes to all that I don't know so thinking about the next couple years is exciting to me because I have a looooooong way to go. The journey should be fun though!
