2 New Buck Knives--Imported

I wonder if they were made here would anyone be very interested in them? don't think I would be, due to sizes and kinda generic designs of them.

I keep resisting the urge to buy a Selkirk.
Maybe I'll just buy one and not tell anyone......
Don't you have a Vanguard? I think the Selkirk is just a watered down version of the 192 Vanguard.

It's the full tang, micarta handle and flat grind.
Just about everything I like in a knife.
I'd buy 2 Vanguards like that.
Put them in sheaths made by Mak...... oh yeah.

It's about time Buck remembered that they make a Vanguard.

But I agree. I really do try to avoid buying Chinese imports.
Heck, I'd buy it even if it was made in Canada...... lol.

One of the knives I most regret not grabbing was the BOTM Vanguard 692....

But back to the op's thread....

It's unfortunate some of these knives are dismissed due to country of origin........
It's even more unfortunate it's not made here.

I’ve seen some that got my attention but like others I’m disappointed when I see they are made elsewhere. I wonder how many more would sell if they were USA made.

My experience with offshore knives (Products). Most of the time they are not designed by say Buck. They are designed randomly and presented as an option to Buck. I can only imagine how many products are presented to Buck in a years time.

Buck then looks at models, prices, does some forecasting and either buys in or moves on.

Unless it looks like a Buck no matter where its made it probably was designed by Buck. Otherwise its probably a generic design sold to Buck as a low cost knife.

I actually like the 263 Hiline. I like flippers in the size range (3-1/4" to 4") and make one with a D2 cleaver that looks slightly sheepsfooty (if you squint). Kinda cool. Kinda fun. Without committing to buy this non-existent product, I can say that I would definitely consider buying one of these, were it domestic.

Hard pass for me, regardles of where they are made.
The 264 is not my style, and the skinny/thin handle looks uncomfortable to me. (I may be mistaken on that.)

I already have a couple multi-blade and single blade knives with a sheepsfoot primary blade. They don't get much carry or use. Therefore, it would be kinda silly for me to get another one, even if it is "only" call it "$40."

Also, I do not need (or want) a OHO kniife. I'm not in any hurry. A two hand open is plenty "fast" for me, and my fngers are still operational.
If I ever get to where age makes it difficult for me to open a knife, I might get a OHO, or a 110 auto at that point, or just carry a small fixed blade, instead of a folder.
