2 New Carson Beauties

Is that bead blasted or satin finished ?

Is CF hardware optional ?

Yeah, and when I asked for one in Stag he said things to me that made this sailor blush, and called me names that only my wife can get away with.

Nice Phil!

Is CRKT coming iut with a factory collaboration version? If so, will the hardware be AUS-6 or AUS-8? :)

You should have heard what he said when I asked for the one on the left in Ivory with pearl insets:D :D
Had to plug even my ears on that one...:D

We have so many folks here that make knives on a part-time basis or as a hobby. I thought it would be interesting to see what a Full-time knife maker does for fun. Well, Kit Carson does woodworking and you can see from the pic that he’s not just knocking together bird houses. If you’ve ever handled a Carson Custom Knife you can imagine the degree of fit and finish he’s put into these chests.

Kit sent me the pics of these chests, (of course I had to play around with them ;) ).
Hopefully Kit will jump in here with more details, but here’s what I know. The larger one is walnut and the smaller one is maple, he also said he’s been working on them for two years. When I heard that I said, “That’s perfect! Since there’s a two year wait on your knives I’ve got a great idea for an AD.”

I wonder why when I submitted this Ad to him he fired me as his Advertising Director?

You guys had me going for awhile there, talking about handle material and blade finish:)

Like alot of knifemakers, my profession is knifemaking and my hobby is also knifemaking. When I get tired of that I do woodworking, and making these knife chests (machinist's chests) are what I like best.

The big one (32" wide, 18" deep, and 24" high) is black walnut with drawer parts in poplar. The smaller (24" wide, 12" deep, and 20" high) one is hardrock maple/rosewood trim and 16 drawers with rosewood fronts.

The next one is going to be tiger stripe and birdseye maple and even larger.

Darrel, I have the outhouse planned out. Going to use desert ironwood so the smells are close to the same. (If you have ground ironwood, you know the smell I'm talking about).

Phil, sorry about rejecting your plan but I already had the Mercedes giveaway planned:)

And to all of you guys - sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Just had alot of things going on.
