Got two new Spyderco's in yesterday! One is the 92mm Citadel auto, and the Gayle Bradley. Both are awesome!!:thumbup: I have outfitted each with the foldover clips from usaknifemaker and now both ride all the way within my pocket with only a small amount of clip showing. The one on the Gayle Bradley has been torch anodized, while the Citadel has black 3M stair step tape covering it.
Both are amazingly sharp out of the box, but that is pretty much expected from Spyderco isn't it?!?! I did a review, more first impressions, of the Citadel on the Auto Forum, but suffice to say, it is an excellent knife and automatic, and I'm well pleased with it's purchase.
The GB is my first CPM M4 bladed knife and I got it mainly due to the positive reviews it has garnered, and because it's specs suggested a solid, weighty knife. Taking it out of the box it is easy to see the quality of the knife as the quality just oozes off it.....maybe a little over the top, but what the hey. Anyway, it is so well constructed, and the minute you pick it up and hold it, you can easily feel how solid it is. Everything a knifenut looks for on a knife to tell if it is a quality knife, the Gayle Bradley has it, and has it in spades.
Action, lockup, materials, fit/finish, centered blade, all of it is just there.
This now makes 5 Spyderco's I own, with the other 3 being the PPT, Vallotton, and the titanium Military. Three of the five are made in Taichung, Tawain, and are as well made as any knife I own, taliking some customs, and high dollar, and better than several I have at the same price.
Spyderco knows how to make a knife, simple as that!
