So in this past week I have received 2 Spyderco blades in trade. First was the Dragonfly 2 Salt. Everything I have ever read about it was spot on. This knife is lazer sharp and very good in the hand. The previous owner left his lanyard on and I must say it adds a lot to a knife that is lacking in real estate. Today the DLC/BLK Paramilitary 2 came. I don't see its awesomeness quite yet. Compared to many of my others I feels overly heavy. The ergonomics are ok, but nothing like holding my Sage 2. The Compression lock while decent and very functional feelsuchore awkward than the Ball Bearing Manix I traded for it

Now I will give this knife a fair shake. When I got my Native 5 I hated it, its still not my most carried knife but the only one I wouldn't consider parting with. When I got my Sage 2 I was less than impressed then slowly its become the knife the rides with me at least 5 days out of the week. I really hope to like the Para 2, but if I don't be looking on The Exchange very soon lol

Can you post a better picture of those?

Unfortunately that about as good as they get from my phone. I keep telling myself I need to upgrade my phone since mine is a bit dated. Then I end up with new boxes that say Spyderco and the phone idea goes out the window

Not knocking your picture quality just want to make sure they are legit. On the dragonfly is the pin near the lock bar an actual pin or does it have a screw?

Round pin on one side screw on the other

Can't quite tell for sure but does the dragonfly have the swedge on top of the blade?

As for the lock stick it shouldn't be much but try to clean the stop pin with some alcohol to make sure there's not any oil on it.

Is this PM2 your first Compression-lock?
Once you get a hang of just sliding your index finger back to hit it and a wrist twitch to close (and all fingers out of the way), you'll feel everything else is cumbersome and start seeking all the other Comp-locks you can get your hands on.

Surprised to hear the mention of it feeling overly heavy. Rarely in the description of a PM2... but more like a Manix.

Mu Manix was a lightweight so I maybe got spoiled on a big knife that's not heavy lol. I'm sure I'll like it. But its good knowing if I don't that there's always the Exchange and everyone loves a Pm2.

After further playing with it I've found I prefer the use my thumb to disengage the lock and let the choil drop on my index finger. Suits me well as I'm used to the motion when using my mid locks

Its growing on me. I think if the texturing doesn't grow on me I may dive into the custom scale world though. Or maybe I'll just do it causebit looks cool lol

Check out spaceman's custom scales. They'll add a few ounces, but they make the PM2 super classy.

I've seen some that have a honeycomb type pattern on then that at I've very much liked. I like high traction on most of my knives. Most of my user knives have Bi directional texturing and I absolutely love the traction just not the overall look and feel

You're probably thinking of Putnam scales.
I've always found most G10 to have plenty enough traction for me. But, one of my PM2's has seen so much pocket time that the G10 is becoming polished and losing its grip! I didn't notice until I started rotating in another new Elmax PM2 into my regular carry and compared the two... might have to look for some new scales myself now, wish I could find some factory grey scales. I've always wanted a PM2 with the black hardware like yours, but never picked one up yet.

Same here on the PM2,
felt awkward working the lock, ended up in the safe as I had other Spydies coming in as well, and my sage 2 and techno see most of my pocket time.
I need to get it out and and reaquaint myself with it
