I'm torn between a Benchmade Ruckus and an Emerson CQC-13.Both look like great, tough knives.
I feel both knives will make awesome EDC's and be used for EDC sort of stuff but I just can't seem to make up my mind about one or the other.
Anyone here have hands on experience of both of these knives?

I do not own an Emerson, so I can't opine based on personal experience.

However, I do own a BM 610 in S30V steel and it's one of my all time favorite folders, and in my EDC rotation.

If I'm wearing slacks or a suit, I carry the BM 710 D-2. If I'm wearing Wranglers, I usually carry the Rukus.

i own both. I have both the full sized rukus and the mini. I prefer the mini. The large one is just huge. The mini is comparable to a manix just with a less wide blade. The emerson is well...awesome. I suggest the mini or the 13 for edc. The full sized rukus takes up a whole pocket to carry around but it has a whole lot of cutting power. any other questions?

I have owned both and currently have a 13. For me it is the EKI hands down. Didn't care for the Rukus at all. Could have been hand ergos for me can't really remember actually but I know shortly after I bought it I sold it. So there you go. keepem sharp

BENCHMADE RUKUS......BENCHMADE RUKUS......BENCHMADE RUKUS[/SIZE]......I like them Benchmade Rukus knives!!!

I have CQC 13 and I like it very much. I have handled the rukus but not used it. The EKI is a pure user, a tank of a knife and without any pleasentries to it.

Sometimes that is excactly what I want and need but for EDC I want a little more. Put it this way.

If I was to drive through the desert, lets say in a Mercedes I would pick one as basic as possible, with as few electronic gadgets possible so as to minimalise possible failures, but a Mercedes (BMW, Cadillac) nonetheless

But if was to drive through the city back and forth I would pick the super saloon with all the comforts for the ride.

I have a full size Rukus in my right pocket and a small in my left as I am sittin here typin. They are part of my EDC and will remain so for a long time. Great handle that is not just flat, but actually has contours. Nice flat ground blade, and the clip positions it tip-up so it does not get in the way of your hands getting in your pocket.
Highly recommend it. I sold my two Emersons last year. But they were chisel ground tantos, and I do not really care for that blade style. Otherwise they were nice enough, but FLAT handle scales. They were not custom Emersons, just regular production knives.

My CQC-13 came the other day, gotta say that I love it. Nice sized blade, solid lockup, and of course it is an Emerson :D
Good luck

I've been carrying the Rukus since Christmas. It's HUGE, it's sharp, and it's absolutely the smoothest action in any knife I've handled. I made a leather sheath for it and removed the clip....it now rides on my belt.

The Rukus is on my to buy list (21st down the list).
Emerson doesn't even qualify (don't like Liner locks).
Get the Rukus.

Na...I block out the pain....LOL.
I think I'll go with the CQC-13.I really like the Comrade CQC-12 but I don't have that kind of loot for a knife.I can pick up a CQC-13 here in Canada too for not too much so I can avoid cross-boarder nonsense.
I may still get the Ruckus (shorter one) at a later date but the Wave feature sold me.Ready to go right out of the pocket man that's sweet.(saw the vids of it at Emerson's site now I'm hooked.)
