Well I sent a couple of small sebbies off to the spa today. I have a classic micarta that I'm just having the handles reblasted on and a small classic that actually needs to be looked at. I picked it up this year, NIB from a dealer. I'm guessing old stock. But the clip screw doesn't screw in right so it causes the clip to not be tight. I'm hoping they can fix it. I'd have sent it back to the dealer, but since it's no longer made and a left handed classic on top of that, I knew they couldn't replace it.

I guess now it's just a waiting game to see if it can be fixed. I hope so. I bought it earlier this year but pretty much put it right in the safe because I was already carrying a small 21 and the classic micarta. I grabbed it out a month or so ago to see the difference between the classic and the 21 and noticed the clip.

Good thing I have other small sebenzas to alleviate any separation anxiety. :)

Well I haven't had most of these long enough to need a trip to the spa. The micarta sebenza I got used and it could have used it then but I wanted to carry it a bit first.

I'm hoping something can be done for the classic plain that needs the clip screw fixed. It's like the hole isn't straight or something. Since it's a classic and not made anymore I'm hoping it's covered under warranty since it was purchased NIB. But since it's old it might not be. I'd rather not drop more $ on a knife I just spent $330 for. But I figured if anyone can make it right it's the shop. I've read "fixes" for clips that aren't tight but the screw actually won't screw down flush. I'm not going to mess with it. Heh. I'm a wood worker. Not a metal worker. :)

Just sent my new-to-me small regular in for a reblasting and tuning. The lock is really hard to disengage. I'm hoping it's back soon.

As soon as I get my Insingo I'm going to send my small regular and small micarta in for double thumb lugs and perf washers.

CRK will be able to fix it, no problem. The lifetime warranty is still good and doesn't expire, so the age will not matter...........I have been meaning to send in several as well, but have been putting it off. I have a large regular BG-42 I wanna send in for spa treatment and possible double studs AND custom engraving. I also have a few other large regulars that I wanna get double studs on as well. I love those double studs on the large regulars. You don't use them alot, but its nice to have them there when you do need em. Plus, I think it makes everything look more uniform. I am just a regular sebenza junkie, what can I say........... :D

I just sent off 7:eek:
FedEx dropped off number seven just before I closed the box. I have one knife there now, so it's kind of
lonely here in the woods.

Update: I just spoke with Jessie, and they are swamped. Expect longer turn around times.

What are the perf washers, please, and what makes them an improvement?

Just to jump in, though I dont know if I had to reply Im thinking they're perforated washers and think it helps with lubricating the blade and keeping it so. (with the holes and all)

Someone feel free to correct me as Im green.

Your right on. Chris came up with them for the umnumzaan and it helps keep the grease in longer. That way it doesn't have to be taken down and cleaned as often. After finding them to work very well in the umnumzaan, he incorporated them into the sebenza as well.

I sent 3 in for touch up yesterday. Well, only one of them needed to correct slightly inconsistent grind from factory, but I sent other two just because I could put them in the box.

When I sent my Large Regular for servicing this summer, turnaround was about 2.5 weeks. I guess I should expect longer wait this time around. Oh well I have2 other CRKs to keep me company, and I'm used to long wait from my Leica camera repairs...

I just got a call today saying my knives were finished in the spa and on their way home. Large seb, small seb, mnandi and a Zaan. I have missed them so. Turn around was little over 3 weeks I think. I have hung a banner and put up the decorations for the home coming party.
