1) Anybody know of an online tutorial they can point to, that deals with wrapping stuff with paracord? I am primarily interested in making a "handle" from paracord, i.e. braiding it into a 5-6" long segment, and attaching it to rings on both ends.

2) What are some online sources for US-made paracord in 550 strength and lesser strengths, in different colors?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Based on those images, it's utility cord that's generally used for wrapping, not paracord?

In the old days, the Strider website used to have instructions on how to re-wrap one of their paracord handles. Don't know whether it still does but you might check.

[Edit: I checked and the handle wrapping instructions are still on the Strider website.]

If you get paracord from Sportsman's Guide, get the PARACORD, not the utility cord. I use their para cord and am very happy with it. The utility cord is pretty useless:barf:. The core tends to work out of the cord and you have little white lumps that snag on things.

I did make an interesting handle wrap with the utility cord. I removed the core before using. After wrapping, I put several coats of urethane varnish on it. I don't know how it held up because I gave it away.

For colors, try these guys: ARMY/NAVY

I haven't ordered from them yet, but they have a nice selection.
