first question is, I heard a guy talking about having a "peach" torsion bar in him shallot. so heres my question can different torsion bars be put into different knives, ie non standard ones, if so where could one get these.

2nd I have a question about kershaw steel, im eying one of the s110v shallots in the FS area. whats the deal with this steel?? how much better is it than s30v or s60v. is it harder, I would imagine, what else would make it superior to the s30v.

im torn between the 110v shallot or a damascus shallot, before you say get both, im getting other things and im already spending more than I should be anyway.:) thanks.

Nope. Each torsion bar is made for the specific knife.

S110V has more vanadium in it making it more wear resistant. It's harder then S60V
and I think It's ran a couple of points higher then S30V.

As far as it being better, that's pretty subjective. Do you want ease of
sharpening, better corrosion resistance, longer edge retention, ability to
take a finer edge and so on. It's all up to the user in what better means
to him.

Does that help any or am I just confusing myself for nothing? :D ;)

I'm the guy with the peach torsion bar. I still do not know what is up with my torsion bar, but it sure as heck has recoil  Maybe if I'm bored, I'll do a side by side comparison, and see if there's something different about that one.

Johnnymac is correct, each torsion bar is made for a group of knives. (Shallot torsion bar for the shallot series etc.)

And +1 on the post from SPX--that should be a sticky for the people who are wondering.

oh, see I thought you may have swapped it out for a "faster" one from a different knife.

also thanks for the link good info. and yeah there should definitely be a sticky for that and probably the other steels they use in their knives.

Oh yeah!? Well I got a COMBO CHEEZBURGER one

Suck on that RR.

*cue the lolcats*
