2 Questions for Buck, since only they know:

1) Will the domestic 300 series ever be returned to production?
It's been 2 or 3 years now since that assembly line was shut down for "remodeling" "upgrades" and allegedly expansion, with the "promise" of a wider selection of slipjoints.
Still no new domestic slipjoints, and it appears even the last two; the 301 and 303, have been dropped. Both are about as rare as hen's teeth, anyway. Locally at the big box natonal sporting goods stores, and online.

2) Will your SFO dealers (including but not limited to SK Blades and Copper & Clad) ever have orders processed again, or are SFO's outside individual Custom Shop orders a thing of the past?
It has been almost two years since the person who scheduled the SFO production (allegedly) quit, and his position has yet to be filled.

I was curious and looked at the catalogs. 2017 was the last year all 4, the 301, 303, 305, and 309 were listed.
The 301 and 303 have been cataloged every year since so the 300 series offerings slimmed down but never went away completely.
The 301 and 303 are both currently offered on the factory website.
Perhaps question #1 should be asking if the 305 and 309 will ever come back.

Not sure what’s gonna happen with offshore Buck knives being brought back to have the
U.S. A. stamp on the tang again. The new government is planning on taking all the incentives to have companies return manufacturing to the US away. Some companies that returned are leaving again. So sad to see and I don’t blame companies for doing so. Hard to run a business with ever changing rules.

Don’t support off shore knives and it will cease

I was hoping for a return of the 300 series with new and changing scales to keep my interest. Also a return of SFO dealers. These are hard times.

True. The "progressives" are renewing and expanding NAFTA, and are attempting to raise the corporate domestic taxes to the highest in the world again. :(

I figure more are going to go offshore, just so they don't have to price themselves out of the market, and charge more than GEC just to break even. I just hope they upgrade from the 3CR whatever it is MOV to at least 7CR17MoV. For what a 37x/38x costs, they could without raising the price.
The offshore BTI Old Timer has 7CR17MoV "440A Equivelent" or 9CR18MoV "440C Equivelent" for the same price as the Buck 37x/38x offshore offerings with 3CR whatever it is MoV blade steel.

Received a fall catalog from a knife dealer today. Both 301 and 303 were still listed but had a small bump in price.

Sorry JB, didnt mean to take political
wasn't you was me.....I dug into asking about the Davids statement and if he knew Buck s plans were being affected by govt policies or he was just speculating. I shouldn't have too close to politics..so I changed it and letting it go for the greater good.
