Well like the title says! 2 stick bow and drill method, with no cordage binding the sticks together.

After Ia Woodsman's no knife, only a boot lace bow and drill method, this was discussed on in that thread on here, brought up by Rick Marchand and Riley posted a couple ideas on how to do a 2 stick without cordage, and I wanted to give it a go! Well it worked out well.

Mullen Stalks for the hearth, Cedar for the spindle.

Wow, that pretty much instantly started smoking. Good job, and thanks for the video.

Aww Damn. Ya beat me to it.....This is the method ive been working on for the challange. Been kickin my butt too, but your video will help that! Great job man.....

fake.... ALL FAKE! You were casting ferro sparks with your teeth.

Great job, bro! What's awesome is that you probably could have popped a coal off with a long mullen handrill. NO CORDAGE, NO KNIFE.... no problem.

Here is a configuration that works for me. You can substitute the pegs with a sapling, root, rock, etc... You use the forward pressure of your foot to wedge the sticks between the pegs

Nicely done! That was a really quick coal. Man, I can use a short spindle like that, I've worn some down that far, but I find them a pain in the neck to use lol.

Looks like with the wood in that position that reaching around the right knee like that would be a pain in the @$$. Wouldn't it be better in this particular instance, wood in this configuration and facing that direction, if it were the left foot holding the sticks in place? :p

What are you talking about Misty? Listen, I'll buy you a beer in Atlanta and we'll go over how to tell left from right, m'kay?
