Here's 2 that Herb Derr did.I became very friendly with Herb they day I met him and saw his knives. He sure is a Gentleman, a very talented one too!! He did the Rams horn sub hilt for me first. It is the first Subhilt Herb has ever done. He Mortised the Rams horn around the tang leaving the natural beauty of the Rams horn Character exactly as I requested!! Then he did the stag one for me. I'm quite happy with the results!!

As you said Herb is very talented and a good guy.
My second custom knife was from Herb. He always provides
a nice knife of fine materials with a complementing high quality sheath.

I really like his damascus as his patterns are well defined and have a little color
due to the bluing process he uses.

Always wondered why we see so little of his work here. He has a good following.

Sub-hilts are getting soooo popular these days.

Congrats.

Those are nice. I met Herb a few years back and also think highly of him as a person and knifemaker.

I like the gold tones he gets in the damascus and he provides nice sheaths as well.

Congrats,
Peter

Stabber, nice Derr's!

I liked Herb from the first time I met him. A fine gentleman who makes unique steel. Always enjoy catching up with him at shows. Here are a couple of mine from Herb.

I'm not familiar with Mr. Derr's work, but those look great to me. His damascus is gorgeous and reminds me of Cleston Sinyard's.

Here's one of my old Derr fighters and a big Bowie which recently sold on the Rehoboth Custom Knives site.

I really like what I have seen from Herb Derr. Those subhilts aren't my favorite knives I have seen from him, but as always, I really like the steel.

I have several Herb Derr knives and always make a point to talk to him at shows. Great guy and always willing to share his knowledge. Never saw a subhilt from him before and now know why.
