Just a quick positive note for Canal Street Cutlery. Picked up a dark amber bone Gunstock recently and I'm very impressed! Long nail nick on the main blade, pinched and lined bolsters, beautiful bone, flawless fit & finish, and it actually came sharp! In fact, it's the sharpest of any knife I've gotten "new" in years -- it'll actually push cut paper out of the box! Both blades!

Don't have a picture to share, but they're all over the place.

I like it so much I've ordered two more patterns in the series. So far I'm liking these at least as much as the S&Ms and Queens.

OK, based on my admittedly limited experience, these guys (CSC) now get my vote for the best production knife in the USA. I got my Trapper and Stockman today, and they are absolutely gorgeous and perfect in execution.

I've got four S&M knives and a couple of Queens to compare them to (as well as a boatload of Cases, Buck, and Ka-Bar), and everything about the CSC knives is as good as or better than any of the others. They're solid, beautiful, well finished, and Canal Street cares enough to ship them razor sharp.

If anyone's on the fence about ordering one of these I cannot recommend them highly enough.

csc rocks-i have a muskrat(amberbone) and a small stockman(blue)-bolth are sweet- 2 of the bf ring knives on order also-
bolth are much better than my schatt and morgan small toothpick

The small CSC stockman I have is likewise, superb.
So is the large folding hunter.

However, I don't feel they're substantially better in all aspects than my S&Ms.
All of my S&Ms have great fit and finish; no blade play. Really like my S&M collection of reverse gunstocks, stockmans, english jacks, small toothpicks, lockbacks, and especially large toothpicks.

Also like the fact that they use ATS-34 instead of 420, at least on on some of them.

Main thing of note is that the Canal Streets were sharper out of the box than any of the Schatts.

Looking forward to CSC coming out with a large toothpick, 5 inches.
Maybe even in D2.

Agreed, Schatts do have their strong points, as do Queen. I'm beginning to lose my interest in high zoot steels though.

FWIW, for those wanting something other than 420HC, a CSC Trapper in D2 just showed up on eBay this morning. Looks pretty nice. No, I am not the seller nor do I have any interest in the sale. Just pointing it out.
