My camera continues to deteriorate. Forgive the poor quality pix.

top -- 19.5 inch and about 2 pounds. Heavy duty user by Bura. Fine work. You can polish it out, sand and oil a great saatisal handle with burl and have yourself a top of the line rig for $95. Excellent karda and chakma. Same old perfect scabbard and frog by village sarki. Small rust spot on blade is only problem -- about 10 minutes work to get it perfect.

bottom -- Same as above except it is marked by Kumar (name in Devanagari) but he's used Bura's mark of the cresent moon. I'm not sure who made this Kumar or Bura but it's the same top quality work and same price. No rust on this one. $95 delivered to your door.

Call or email to get either or both heavy duty villagers.

Yangdu just found a third villager same as these two -- marked Kumar with Bura's cresent moon. I think the kamis do stuff like this just to irritate me. Anyway one more available at same price. Minor rust to be removed. Call or email.

Email is sent, it is from my work address. I've been watching the forum like a hawk for some villagers. =)

Bill, I know I ask this about every 6 weeks, but did the Kamis or your business partner ever let you know if Kesar is still around or if the new Kami is new?

I wonder why they don't think the names are important? Is the money they recieve important? After listening to you for these many months I get the idea as long as the quality is there that's all they think I need to know. Is this attitude part of the Hindu, "selflessness"?

These guys ever play poker?

I like the initials in Devanagari rather than English...but geeze, if you tell the Kamis they'll probably write it all in english.

I'm going to polish these guys up and give one to my Dad as a Christmas present. He got that glazed "I need a khukuri" look in his eye when he saw my Bura Ang Khola.

He and I have a lot of brush and hardwood to clear out from a recent tornado so they should get a good workout. :)

They don't tell me anything. I get the feeling that Kesar is the new kami. He has used 3 or 4 different marks since he started at BirGorkha -- our first kami. I think the KS tells the story but they continue to fake me out by trading marks and generating new ones.

So in one sense anyway, this is their humor. They're teasing Uncle Bill. You once said they act like little kids sometimes...

I'm a big subscriber to the "people are people, wherever they are" theory, but the snippets of Nepal society/culture in the HI forum are interesting.

The two BAS's that I have are very much alike. The first one was by Kesar with the Nepal Flag. The one with the S.K. and the trident was the second one. Without looking at the markings the blades are very much alike in the shape. The S.K. blade is just a bit heavier is the only difference that I can find. Fit and finish on both knives is very good. So, I just feel that Uncle Bills idea about the S.K. Kami may surely be right.:)
