So I wanted to do a write up on my AD but I wanted to use fr a while first. Well it has been 2 weeks and I have been more than impressed. The first day I got it went right on my hip it has been there since. The knife came SHARP!! I have had a few Rats and there edges don't even come close. Many times I caught myself saying I've never done that before. I was able to cut a through Comm cables with on swipe and had no edge damage. I have been a Comm troop for almost 5 years and have never had a knife handles cabling like this one. Usually the edges will roll on the metal shielding. I did a complete rewire yesterday using the knife many times to trim cables and its still pretty sharp. But theres is zero edge damage just a little duller.

I have a very high end tactical folder. I spent a lot of money on it and it sit in my pocket unused. I find it much easier to grab a fixed blade then fumble with a folder. When I got the AD I thought I could use my folder for more delicate work since it has a full height grind. But I find that the smaller length blade works very well for delicate work. I thought that 3/16th would be a little thick on the little blade. Boy was I wrong this thing is perfect.

The only problems I have with the knife is:

1. It makes me want more infi!!!!

2. It gets dull and I can't sharpen. This is my problem with all my knives. I need an easy way to sharpen this sweet knife. I was thinking about getting a Strop but don't know much about them. Can I buy a ready made one?? Just use a leather belt?? Will Busse ever re-release The Air Bleeder Strop??

I would also like to take time to give Jerry, Amy-o and the entire Busse crew a huge thanks for there assistance with this knife. I emailed requesting something sharp for my deployment and Jerry "hooked me up" to say the least. Everyone involved with Busse has been amazing, thanks for everything guys.

Thanks for the review --- the AD is a sweet little blade for sure!

I sharpen mine on a cheap spyderco sharpmaker set-up, although most here reccommend the Edge-Pro. The strop is a good way to go, just will have to push through the learning curve...

Great review. The AD is a great knife.

Thanks for all you do for this country:thumbup:

A very inexpensive way to sharpen is to strop on wet/dry sandpaper on a somewhat firm backing (like a stiff mousepad). INFI sharpens really easily on sandpaper (suprised me) and once you have the convex edge, it's easy to maintain (a few swipes on a leather belt, for example).

Sharpmaker works well, too, but costs more and takes up more space. I have both and choose sandpaper everytime.

The edge isn't convexed it looks like a flat grind? Is it hard to convex? Will sandpaper convex it??

Thanks guys.

yes, but it will take a long time, and you will not want to use anything much coarser than 300 grit. ive used up to 2500 grit, but it is time consuming.

the sharpmaker is easy, but may also take time. try a chef's steel.

the key is to maintain the edge, and not let it get too dull before you try and sharpen it. once it is "rounded", you are basically trying to grind a new edge.

and congrats on the promotion!!!

The edge is probably convexed from the factory since they use belts.

You can get a thinner, sharper convex edge with sandpaper. I strop with 320 grit, then 600, then 1000, then 1500, then leather strop/green compound to get crazy sharp edges. Yes it takes time, but once you have it, maintenance is a breeze.

Here is my game warden that I thinned out and convexed - it's ridiculously sharp!

Well I'm gonna take th leap and try a convex edge. It doesn't look that hard (famous last words). Thanks for all the assistance with this.
