Hey all!

I am curious as to any interesting differences between 2 wheel grinders (Grizz, Hard Core, Burr King type) versus the 3 wheel type (Bader, KMG). I use a Craftsman 2x42 which is a 3 wheel set-up, though not quite like the KMGs and the Baders! Just curious about the 2 vs. 3 is all, thanks!

I am not sure, but I would say that most knife makers lean towards the three wheel grinders because they are more versatile. On the three wheelers, it is easier to set up flat plattens and small wheel attachments. Just a guess though.

I would love to have a Burr King model 960 or even better yet, their new 960-272 knife maker's grinder. But I have no complaints about my model 760 either. I am just want multiple grinders. ;)

The link that Mr. Wilkins posted offered a lot of information. And I just want to add a little bit more. Bader offers 1" inch wide contact wheels for there machines. You can also use different belt lengths on the Bader machines, like the KMG. Which means your not limited to just a 14" contact wheel.

2 Wheel Grinder. If you like looking directly down on your work, you either need a forehead that slopes back or you'll get one.
