I was strolling the flea market a few weeks ago and ran into a few 1950's American Rifleman magazines in excellent condition.Its been a blast reading the great well written articles and seeing the slant they had on things then.Its definately prior to the P.C. movement that has helped to wreck things i think.Anyhow,more fun than the articles is cruising the ads and want ads.Man,if i only had a time machine.These pics are from the August 1951 edition.I dont see giveaways here ,so if this is another screwup on my part i apologize and please move it to another subforum.Just post here if you would like to have this magazine and your post # will be your entry.Ill do a random drawing here in a day or two.Ill ship it free anywhere in the world.It may take some time to get to moscow or something though.

I'm in,i wonder who Tex Jolly was?
He must have been a good guy,or maybe he needed
a Ruger for his next hold-up?....Or a Ruana to slice
up that Grizzy Bar.

That was about the time I was reading Randall and other ads in the back of magazines and wishing. Still wishing, wish I had sold soft drink bottles or whatever and used the proceeds to buy knives back then.
Anyway, nice find Seals, count me in.

Jolly is in n.Texas close to Ok.I had to google it.Population in 2000 was 189 or something.Yea,the good old days.Send off a check for 29.99 and get a German Luger shipped to your door.( : They also have leather washer war surplus knives for $1.29 i think it was.I guess Ka-Bar's?

Here i found a Randall ad in another issue.$7.50 with a Heiser sheath!OMG.What a hoot! Ive noticed that optics are quite expensive for the time.More than most handguns and some rifles.Ill pick a random winner and a 2nd place since these pics are from the other issue.Ist winner gets choice of issue.
