Really want to snag one of these already have 18". Anyone got info/reviews or pics post them up :).

How do you like the 18" for chopping smaller brush? I'm wanting to get my first Khuk from HI and am thinking of that one but I'm kinda concerned it may not be the right for a "do all" blade.

most of these blades are durable enough to do almost anything you need short of metal destruction-- but any plant material, woe unto the plant

Personally for chopping smaller brush the 18" AK is overkill. A KLVUK or a Siru or any of the other lighter blades allow me to go longer without getting worn out. You don't want to be worn out swinging an AK, it's bit ya for sure.

My last 18" CAK was 42oz and was pretty much too heavy for anything than a well supported chopper. In fact for me anything over 2.5 pounds is just a dedicated chopper.

My favorite do all blade is a 23oz 16.5" WWII.

I love the idea of it being bomb proof. I use it mainly to down small to medium trees. It's would probably be good at any task you need to do with it. I don't mind the size actually want a 20" really bad.

I hear your pain! I dont regret for a second getting mine! Here is a thread with a whole bunch of good folk helping me out before I ordered. I think I had my mind set before I ordered too but but you can see all the people eager to help with other options! Welcome to the forum Bennieboo! Enjoy!

I find that heavier blades can be a liability when cutting smaller stuff-it doesn't get moving fast enough to shear, and ends up pushing the target out of the way. I came close to taking an eye out trying to cut blackberry vines with a heavy pinuti that wasn't very sharp. Slammed the vine out of the way, and it wrapped around my head...

I hate blackberry vines and Vine Maple for that reason. Vine Maple is like little spring loaded booby traps. Even with a chain saw you cut it and it whips on ya. Almost ate a few chainsaws I wasn't hungry for.

Yep. That's one of the reasons I'm such a loony about everything being so sharp-it lessens this phenomenon. I don't even try to cut little stuff with a chainsaw. I've seen Jackie do it but no thank you.

Thank you guys! I joined the blade forum just to talk to y'all here in HI forum. Thanks for the info and support.

You can get either the standard hidden full tang or chiruwa exposed full tang. I prefer the balance of the hidden tang but its just comes down to personal preference.

yeah most of my blades are hidden or "rat tail" tangs and I have never had any issues even with the hardest workers
