Impressive photography and great subjects as usual Gator. You really do take incredible pictures, yours blow away many of the professional knife pics I've seen.
Keith, Sher has make Ang Kholas that were over 3/4" thick at the spine. 
His initial work for HI was making very small letter opener knives, so once he got to do the larger pieces he went way overboard. I hear they make for some great conversation pieces and unparalled choppers if you've got the brawn to swing them. He's not making them so big anymore, I just sold one of his that has a more conventional spine thickness.
