Just received my kumar 20 inch monster ang khola from the dod a couple weeks ago, it's a beautiful and sturdy blade, and much easier to weild than I thought it would be, the only issue I have is that it arrived missing the chakma

Please post pics man! I want one of those monsters and it will be nice to see pics. Email auntie about the chakma, I am sure she will take care of you. I had a 15 AK that didn't come with a karda or chakma but it was listed that way.

The sher monster ang khola might still be avaliable, and if his work is even close to kumar's then I would say go for it, I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to post pics but I'll try soon, interestingly when I was breaking down the box I found a second karda outside of the wrapping made of satisal, the ang khola is walnut so I'm guessing someone else is missing their karda

I tried to find that DOD but don't see it. It wasn't listed as arriving without a chakma?

Auntie will take care of ya and a knife like that might deserve a JW Bensinger karda and chakma too.

Oh yes... Sharvu just posted pics of her JW Bensinger's made karda and chakma. They are friggin awesome, the polish is great as is the shape. I would bet a dollar that someone with a satisal handled khuk ended up with a walnut handled chakma, but that's just a guess.

JW is a member here. A knife maker extroidinaire. Someday I need to learn how to spell that.

He recently made a karda and Chakma for ????? Shavru??? back off ahlzeimers! I'm not ready for you yet.

He makes some beautiful stuff and these were no exception. Gorgeous with a capital ummm G.

Auntie is shipping out a new chakma tomorrow, I feel kinda bad making her go through the trouble of sending a new one

I've also been thinking of getting a smaller companion knife for my klvuk, does anyone have any suggestions?

Have her send ya a Micro Bowie. Love at first sight or my name ain't Rosco P. Coltrain.

My CAK gets scary sharp, never worried about the Chakmak when using the knife. It holds its own until I hit it with a kitchen steel.

I'd guess that you have big hands, since you say you can wield the 20" monster AK more easily than you expected.

If you do have big hands, I wouldn't go for anything less than 15" overall length, since the smaller blades generally have smaller, narrower handles. There are lots of models to choose from at 15". Some models don't appear at the HI online store, but show up here on the forum as Yangdu's DOTDs (Deals Of The Day).

A 15" AK might be a good companion for your 20" AK Or one of the larger HI Pen Knives, such as this one, which is 15" OAL and 18 oz:

It took about two weeks for delivery but that's not normal, usually it takes around three says

Did you order it from the website or from a deal of the day? If you ordered it from a deal of the day it will ship right away, if you ordered it from the website then they have to make it for you and ship it to the U.S. Which can take awhile

A 15 inch ak is way more than I'm looking for in a companion blade, I'd consider an ibbb, I'm thinking something with a 4-5 inch blade, kind of an utility knife

I wait my 18" Ang Khola more than month.

Was it a DOTD, off the website, or a special order? Anything other than a DOTD could take some time, because stock is low and items may need to be special ordered as a on needed basis, in which case it could take several months. Not to worry, it will be well worth the wait.
