Here's a 10/10 20 inch 24 ounce Sirupati by Sanu. 10/10 except for small superglue fix in beautiful dark grained saatisal handle. I'll just say this is Sanu at his best and save the garbage. Excellent karda and chakma. Excellent scabbard and frog by village sarki in new leather.

Take it home for $90 and that's a good deal.

Call or email.

it will keep me from whining for a while... I don't have a Sanu and there was a gap in my collection between the two 18" ers and my 25" sirupati. But the wood*** now outnumber the horn*** four to one.

Sounds like a reason to buy more khuks.

This one's handle has an unusual color compared to my others, and what looks like a little burl grain pattern in one of the points of the pommel. It also has a much larger handle (particularly the thickness) than any of my khukuris so I've decided to try to reshape it to more closely resemble the handle of my 18" sirupati in order to eliminate some of the crack which is very thin but seems to be at least .125" deep on the thickest part of the handle. The blade alone is worth the $90 that I paid. Sanu did a really nice job. Very straight, nice pointy point:) and the weight that I was looking for.

But what are the little circles in front of the "S.o.S".

I will post pictures when I'm done if I figure out how to take close-ups. I didn't take any before pictures.

Terr:

I've noticed that Sanu seems to like "stocky" handles. I love his bladesmithing, but he needs to talk to his uncle about handle design.
