Upon cleaning my house I found an old buck pocket knife that I hadn't seen in about 15 years.
The model number is a little rusted but it looks like it says the knife is a BUCK 319.
Are there any web sites that I can go to and confirm the id of this knife ?
Thanks
Bill

If the knife is a model 319, it is a contract knife made for Buck by Camillus. The knife was called the Rancher and has an awl. Earliest awls on this model were grooved and later ones were smooth. For more info, see the Jan. 2000 issue of Knifeworld for an article on the 300 series.

Thanks for the input. As there is no awl on this knife it cannot be the 319.
So, I cleaned off the model number and it now appears to read BUCK 311.
The knife is double bladed, each blade slightly longer than 3 1/4 inches and they are both hinged at the same end of the knife.
Does this ring a bell with anyone.
Thanks

The 311 was first introduced in about 1972. It was discontinued in 1991. It had a suggested retail of about $31.00.
Larry can give you a good idea of what they are worth today.
Hope this helps,

Bill,
The 311 Trapper is in the same family of Camillus made contract knives. One in mint condition is worth $50 - 60. You can readily find them offered on eBay should you desire to follow an auction and then compare the condition of that one to yours. Based upon rust and depending on how it would clean-up, your knife could be a $20 - 25 knife. By the way, the 319 Rancher is a three bladed knife.

Thank you so much for the information. It is the 311 trapper. Following your post I was able to find the same knife, with photo, over on ebay.
It is currently bid for 25$.
But I'm not going to sell mine, it's a good every day knife.
Peace
Bill
