I could google search this, but i'm bored at work so i'd rather as you guys

here are my criteria

1. Nothing spiderco or cold steel... period
2. Flipper (AO or not)
3. Blade shape suitable for skinning (lotsa belly)
4. Largish blade (3.5" or better)
5. Carbon steel or one of the carbon composites (D2, A2, S30V etc)
6. Pocket carry Clip
7. $200 or less

Whatcha got?

What about the Fox Pro Hunter? Only requirement it doesn't meet is blade material, it's N690Co. Big robust knife.

Kershaw Rake? It's assisted, however, it's still legal in all states if that's why you don't want assisted.

I'd look through the Kershaw catalog to see if anything catches your eye.

I could give you the perfect answer, but i'm bored at work so i'd rather that you just send me $200 and I'll send you the knife.

The ZT 0200 sounds perfect. Heck, pretty much any ZT folder, for that matter.

+1 on the 0200, I love mine:thumbup: (though it is 154CM)

If you want something a little more carry friendly (thinner & lighter) and in S30V, the 0350 is a nice compromise. It's blade length is listed under 3.5" I believe, but the actual cutting edge is right at 3.5"

already have a half dozen Kershaws... looking to move up in the world.

don't have any problem with AO

looking over the suggestions. Let me know what else you'd recommend

You might also check out the Benchmade 810 Contego. Not a flipper, but it looks like an outstanding knife with plenty of belly and a carbon steel blade.

Buck Vantage Pro. I just got one a couple weeks ago for a work EDC blade. One of the better values I know of.

i'll throw this out there, take a look at the benchmade Ti-Fender (13900). it doesn't use D2 or S30V, but the 9Cr13 should be a little better than AUS-8, it's a Ti framelock and it will run you about $100.

hmm... i didn't know benchmade made a flipper

that's certainly not what i was looking for, but i might buy it just cause it looks neat...

Not sure what your beef is with Spyderco, seeing as a S30V endrua would probably fit the bill perfectly. But since you don't want a Spider, go with a ZT

I think if it were in my price range, i'd go with a Zero Tolerance 0560

it's pretty much exactly what i have in mind, but it's nearly 50% over budget
