ZT

Personally I'd just wait for the 560/561 its about everything you could ask for in a knife without going custom.

Time to try the AXIS! Benchmade Ritter Griptilian. And, get yourself a new spydie to boot if you have 200 to spend. Your Spydie list looks pretty good. If you like the Manix 2 lock, you'll love the AXIS lock.

I like the BM 950 Rift for general use. Beautiful blade shape, but discontinued. You can still pick them up on fleabay though.

If you want super steels, look for a Paramilitary in CTC-20CP or the BM 581 in M390.

If you want a fighter, get a Combative Edge M1 or SR11.

I also like the Emerson CQC8...but that might be over budget...

Its time to try a Benchmade. Theyve got alot of nice models.

I recommend looking at the Presidio, Rift, Sequel, Stryker and Griptilian.

Nice Spyderco list; I agree it's time to try something different; Benchmade, Emerson, a nice slip joint maybe? This will make you appreciate your Spydercos even more!

I would either go for the ZT 056x or a AXIS lock. this are nice, and you could just get a mini grip, buy something else too, and have all the fun, all the functionality, and a pretty nice little knife. however, buy it from somewhere and have them inspect it first to head off the late BM QC issues.

I voted for 'another brand' but that should not necessarily exclude Benchmade. I dig my Spydies but I've never regretted buying my only (so far) Benchmade--the 940. I'm not very keen on the Griptillians, but I'd certainly buy another BM... the Axis-Lock is fantastic!

Since you've already had the Spyderco experience, perhaps it's time to branch out and try something different. Al Mar, Moki, Mcusta, Case, Great Eastern... so many nice knives and great companies to choose from!

Good luck! :)

I was going to say a Paramilitary2 in CTS-20CP steel but all my Googles turned up "Sold Out"
edit: There's one in the exchange right now for $185. SOMEONE BUY IT BEFORE I SPEND THIS MONTH'S GAS TANK MONEY!

Also I heard rumors about upcoming Spyderco folders in M390  which'll be worth the wait

i think you need to try to figure out what your going to use it for as well as any coolness factor you want it to have. the use will determine what to go for and then just pick the one that trips your trigger the most. at that price point you have quite a large list to choose from. everyone raves about the benchmade axis lock, personally i buy a knife for the blade and assume if its a good quality folder the lock will also work as needed. i dont see anyone raving about benchmade blades. just how nice the axis lock is, i dont cut with a lock, i use the edge.

Try Benchmade. The production knives I currently own or owned have predominately been Spyderco, but the Benchmade 755 MPR has been a constant companion since I bought it.

Another +1 for the Benchmade! I own around 30 Spydercos and 3 Benchmades.... It seems like the Benchmades get lots of pocket time. Once you get one you"ll know what I'm talking about.

-Best of luck! Be sure to post pix

Combative Edge M1 (N690Co)
Böker Haddock
A Mcusta
An Al Mar
Fallkniven F1

Fallkniven P-series w/ the 3G laminate blade, for way less than $200. For those dressier occassions.
