Can't find any helpful info about this so I thought I would ask here always get good advice when I do. The mirror leaked whatever chemical they put in them so I can't see anything with it.Got a replacement from the bay not exactly the same but it will work. My problem is how do I remove the old one? Not the bracket mounted to the windshield but just the mirror. Trying to get a decent picture little gloomy there today. Thanks in advance.

Hey Legion, I hope this link helps .

If the mirror mount came free from the window you will have to re-epoxy the mount to the window. Here is a link with basic directions.

Good luck.
Until you fix it you can use this method . :D

Thanks brother read that one already mine has the plastic cap can't get the damn thing off.

Do you have a heat gun, like would be used for kydex? If you do try slightly heating the plastic cover and use a hook pick to work it loose.

I will try that as a last resort best pics I can get right now. That's with a flashlight and the flash on my phone yep that's how gloomy it is in Chicago today. :grumpy:

I don't know if this will help, but when I had to remove the rear view mirror on my 2003 Impala... There is a metal piece glued to the wind shield, the mirror and arm slide onto the metal piece, and there is an allen screw holding the mirror and arm to the metal piece.

You just loosen the allen screw, then slide the whole thing up and off.

Also, there was a little wire clipped onto it for the map lights. I'm not sure if yours has that, but the wire was pretty simple to unplug.

I imagine once you take it off the windshield it will be much easier to work on.

Yea I think there is a Torx or Allen screw there just can't seem to get the cover off gonna leave it alone for a while before i break something. Once I get it off should be no problem with the wiring old connector matches the new one. Thanks for the help

The cover is held on by a small clip, I found a tiny pair of side cuts perfect to wedge in there and release the clip but a small screw driver should work too.

Thanks guys got it no screws just a clip holding it on of course the wiring harness isn't the same but at least i can see now.
