I'm pretty new here and pretty lame with the search function

but, does anyone have/seen/heard anything on a wood-inlay on the Classic 2000 handle?
Aloha

Pardon me, but I was wondering if the wood inlays had dual thumbstuds?

Nice, craigz! I like how the "CR 2001" is in gold. Nice touch. Do they all come like that?

BigHono, I haven't seen a classic wood inlay. The classic is my favorite. An inlay would be nice.

Didn't notice the gold lettering! Even better!

It is a nice accent to the wood and the thumbstud. Works really well.
If CRK offers the Classic 2000 in a wood inlay, I would like it to look like craigz's!
Aloha

kamagong: They don't have dual thumb studs by default, but I'm sure you could get them.

Smooth Bone: I didn't order anything special except dark wood, so I assume that they all have the gold lettering now. I like how it matches the thumb stud, too.

According to the CRK Web site, "The Classic [2000] is offered in all the options currently available for regular Sebenzas, with the exception of the Computer Generated Graphics."

And now the classic dilemma begins. Am I going to be able to bring myself to carry it? Or do I buy a display case for it and hang it on the wall?

Definitely a must use!!!!
Like a fine Italian sports car, great to look at, but even better to use!
Aloha

Very nice looking knife.

Is it a large or small and what type of wood?

Wood inlay is not available on the Classic.

The dual thumb stud is optional.

The knife has gold lettering, thumb stud and spacer.

Large. Black Walnut.

I'll probably carry it eventually, but that first scratch will be heartbreaking.

Sorry BigHonu, CRK only makes 60 small and 60 large wood inlay regular Sebenzas each year.

I can't bring myself to use my small wood inlay Sebenza either.

But I do have a small plain Sebenza that I carry daily.

Use it...Use it! I carry a large WIS daily and love it! This knife is meant to be carried and used. I also had the CR shop add duel thumb studs and a cut a swedge into the blade. Sweet! Why pay this kind of money for a knife that is built to be used just to let it sit on a shelf somewhere? Yeah, their pretty, but that doesn't take away from this very functional and usable knife.

Congrats on your new WIS!

Only 60 a year...
There must be a looong waiting list!
Anybody know what the wait is currently?
Aloha

I just ordered a left-handed one from Bridget and she told me that they are taking orders on the 2002 woodies now.

She said that it would likely be a year wait. However, they usually quote a worse case scenario on waiting time. The last couple have came quicker than they quoted me. I wish all of the makers would deliver quicker.
