That's interesting since my understanding is / was that the "Anvil" is for the year 2002 (100 years) and the "T" is for 2003.

Maybe Joe can shed some light on the subject but it sounds like the wrong blade was used for a knife with a 100 year insert.

I would guess that they ran short of the blades with the anvil mark and proceeded to use 2003 "T" blades to finish the years production.

334dave, is the "T" rightside up or upside down?

I remember reading somewhere, that for some reason Buck switched from the anvil to a upside down "T" mid-year for some reason, then went to the rightside up "T" for 2003. I also think, but am not certain, that one of those 100 year knives with the medallion in the handle was a special run for Smokey Mountain Knifeworks, just like the green handles 40th anniversary 110's in 2004 were?

per Larry Oden with the buck club...

the blades with the "T" right side up and on the back of the the blade [as mine is] is a 2003 blade of which 1000 or Less were made dureing a less see experment by buck (in 2002 i think as the "T" on reg 2003 is on the front) on moveing the year mark to the back of the 2003 year 110's, some how some of the blades got placed in 2002 frames instead of the 2003 frames!!! maby on a 'how does this look or a what do you think cj?'thing...
as always Joe H. your words are most desired on these 'settle this' questions?
any one got a '"T" on a non 2002 frame?

This is a "we dont know" how many of these got out error!!! hummm i think i will list it on ebay maby and see ....hummmm...

So is it an 2002 error !!! ? or a 2003 error!! ??? :confused: damm the confusson for my small x-navy brain!! some one help me on that decision =
what do you guy's think ? ;) 2002 or 2003 error?
{I vote a 2002 error!}

Yep I got them!

Oh Great, I have 3 maybe 4 , 2002 110's still in the clampack with all the 100 year anniv things, that I have been saving. Now you guys say that they might not have the Anvil.

But, the one that I did open and give to the wife for her hunting backpack, does have the anvil.. It has the 100 year emblem and is nicely done, along with having some of the prettiest wood I have seen on a 110. The nylon sheath has the 100 year logos. And they all have the 100 year pin.

Bought these on sale at an Oshmans Sporting goods a couple years ago. They had several and the wife picked out the best looking handles.

And this particular knife has been used to work up a few deer.

Maybe the rest of them will have the anvil.
