How about a Black G10 Native with a shell or ss spydie bug inlay.Surely there are still some of the materials from the shell inlay Natives laying around Golden.

How many would be interested in one of these?Lets see if we can get Sal to make um.:D
 
The problem with G-10 as a handle maerial for a forum knife is that many forumites cannot afford them. Producing a G-10 handled model with a good steel drives it to $100 very quickly.

If not G-10. What would be some good and reasonable options? Colored FRN, CF, Alamite, paladium inlay like the vesuvius? Just curious if anyone has asked you yet?

Hey Glockman. We're in the middle of a Carbon Fiber Police run (1500 pcs). The run includes lefty specific in both plain and serrated, but limited in number. This might be your opportunity? CF is more exotic than G-10?

Hi U812. When you add an inlay to an existing FRN handle, a major mold change must occur to accept the inlay. This adds a mfg cost that cannot re recouped on a short run without making the model very expensive.

In conversations that I've had with Carlos (who always looks out for the ELUs, especially the forumites), he has suggested a short run of plain edge SpyderHawks in a different handle color. Perhaps we could do a short run in one color for the Bladeforum and a short run in another color for the Spyderco site forum?

How about one in Desret tan and one in Olive Drabe.Seems as though these two colors are really hot right now.If you walk into any clothing store you see tons of military colors.
 
Sal - I have been pushing for the new Native - "done differently" as a forum knive, but the Spyderhawk would be cool also. I note that most of the suggestions have been for a better handle material and/or an inlay - most suggestions being for a }{ bug inlay.

To be honest, I am kind of fixated on the idea of the }{ Bug being part of the design - inlay or not.

What kind of options other than a simple change of handle color are possible?

How about a Spydie bug engraving in the blade?

Also, is it possible to post some pics of what FRN material looks like in the popular colors?
