While perusing a "junk shop" today, I saw a Dodge Promo knife. Small toothpick. No maker ID or numerical code on the tang that I could see (knife in really good shape, but tang was covered in black sticky substance). Blade etched with "Dodge 2006" & Ram emblem. Shield was imprinted with "Dodge". The handle material looked like stag, and was thick as stag often is, but appeared too white to me. A bonestag like Case uses? Plastic fake stag? The real thing? I dunno. They wouldn't let me take pics and wanted $35 which I would have paid if I had known it was actually stag. This knife was almost exactly the same size as the Case Small Toothpick - wouldn't surprise me if it was based on that particular knife.

Has anyone seen this knife? Know anything about it, especially handle material? Not looking for value, just info.

BTW, I also found an Imperial Barlow with a '56 - '88 tang stamp for $1.50. Barlow on one side of the bolster, diamond with arrow through a D - E on the other side (nail nick side) of the bolster. Cheap plastic handle. "Diamond Edge 853DE" etched on the main clip point blade. Nice shape & actually sharp. Interesting patina on both the main blade and the secondary blade. Aside from the plastic handle, this is a nice knife. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow, if I can get home long enough to take some. This weekend, otherwise.

Thanks in advance for any info that you kind folks can impart. :)

I'm thinking about getting someone to replace the cheap plastic handles on this one with a nice walnut or something appropriate to the period. I'm of two minds as I dislike the idea of changing it from its original state, yet the plastic really detracts from what could be a decent knife. Thoughts about that?

Crappy pics. Sorry for the lighting issues....

Couldn't get the tang shot to come out, but it is the #12 on this chart:

I would definitely consider getting the handles replaced. I have an 853DE as well and not only do they just not look great but their are poorly fitted sticking out past the liners and backspring and have gaps galore.

Nice pick up for 1.50 though...I think I gave $20 for mine.
