I just wanted to announce that as of the end of this year, I will no longer be taking orders on knives except for the “BUSK” knives and the blades I will add to that line in the future. If you have an idea for something you want from me, you will need to place your order by the end of the year.

I will still be doing a lot of Japanese-influenced blades because I love to create them, but I will be selling them on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. I will be creating an e-mail sign-up for those that want to be notified when I have a blade for sale. I will also be offering them up for sale here and they will be carried by a couple of dealers.

I want to focus more time on developing the BUSK blades and getting more out there. I will also spend more time working on my Japanese-style blades -- I love to just walk up to the anvil or grinder and get creative with those types of blades. I will also take some more time to work on folders, long-blades, bowies and other “out-of-the-norm” blades like balis.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I look forward to getting out to the shop and just building blades! On occasion, I will be making some of the more popular styles, and if I run across a good design, I’m sure I could be convinced to do some short “runs” of the style. ;)

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or complaints and thanks for your time. :)

Dang Michael, I was going to order a few from you after the first of the year :p

Seriously, I know how you feel, a lot of orders can be stressful and cramp the creativity

Me too, Don........:(

Yeah, Michael needs to be a little more creative.........maybe a couple of kids?!?:p

You know to put me on 'your list'..........probably already there!:D

No worries, you still have until the end of the year to order something up, and I'll put you down on the email notification list when I get that together. Just hold up on that kid talk!! (what if my wife reads this!? :D )

Micheal, don't be too eager to abandon your custom orders. Through them you establish your identity which has a great bearing on the marketing and PRICING of your product. Makers that have successfully established a line of knives, bench made or factory associated, generally have established their identity prior to the move. However, good luck, my friend----Sandy---

i love your KOI bowies...put me up on the list for that one and your balis....:D

Big decision, Michael... Kinda like having kids. Dang, did I say that ? :foot: :D Seriously, congrats on your "move." I'd love to see what new stuff you come up with and what happens when the creative juices are let loose.

You know the whole thing about... "nothing spoils your fun more than having to do it for a living... " I've found that you need to cut loose for a time, do what you do. I wish you the best of luck and fortunes.   Jason.
