Are you going to make a forum knife or something? I haven't seen an explanation for these polls yet.
 
I have several 1095's and D2 already. I would love to see ATS-34. It sharpens well and holds an edge. Its a preferred steel by many custom makers.

Trying to get rolling on the 2008 Traditional Forum knife, so maybe we'll get to see it before Christmas next year. It takes a lot of time to work everything out and get one made.
 
do we even know if all these steels are available? and what style they are available for?

this years bf knife is moving so fast with no discussion i feel like im at a auction-

doesnt feel as friendly and smooth as previous ones-its all polls no constructive talk,thats how we decided the last 2


im not pickin on anyone and im glad someone stepped up to the plate- but the speed at what were being forced to decided has me bothered
 
How about A2? I really am enjoying the blade on our first one.
Not sure if there will even be a supply of BG-42 from what I have been hearing and I am not aware of any production company using s30V on a traditional pattern.
(Does not mean there are not any, I just have not heard of one.)

Given the conditions in the country & world today, this has you bothered? Nobody is forcing you to do anything. Lighten up Rosco.

we have steels to vote on that arent available-that right there is a sign of moving too fast-

and no is forcing anyone- but lets do this thing right again like the last 2

Again, please read my posts in the other thread. We are starting ealry. Why not find what people truly want and try to hunt it down? Why limit this to what is easy to find? If we have 14 months to work with, why not go for the desired rather than settle for the available.

Well, I guess my interpretation of jerkit isn't the same as others. Wasn't meaning to offend anyone...sorry it was taken the wrong way. Why is it offered if it's offensive? Just curious.

That question has been asked numerous times. If it could be limited to Whine and Cheese and the Pirate's Cove, I think it would be.

I agree with Ed T. Why not find out what people really want first, even if it isn't available? We can always let Mr. Reality stomp our dreams in January and settle for what we can get. ;)
 
I like the idea of getting the knife off to a flying start! We have to get moving and I'm sure there WILL be lots of opportunity for debate&discussion when the field is say narrowed to 3 patterns, 3 steels, 3 scales.THEN we can begin heated debate. I reckon it's a lot of work organizing this kind of thing and getting it off the ground, sooner we start sooner we will get. Ed T is to be thanked for taking on a tricky&possibly thankless task at times.

ATS34 me or some of Bark River's stainless.

Fact - It is offensive.
Fact - I can not control it's availability.
Fact - It is out of place in this forum and will not be tolerated when directed at another member who posts in this forum. To allow it would be detrimental to the atmosphere that has been established in this forum.

Want to play around insulting others? Don't do it in the Traditional forum. If you do not know why, then I can not help you there other than to say take a look around. We treat each other with respect here. I think the vast majority like it that way and in addition I don't want to deal with having to actually moderate bad behavior in this particular sub-forum. :D.

End of discussion. If the above does not make sense then all I can do is respectfully ask (once) that that symbol not be used in this forum when it is directed towards the post of another member. After that, if it continues, I will put my mod hat on to insure that the atmosphere here is preserved.
