Rob, my friend! Hope all is well with you. I agree, and the picture just doesn't do the color variations justice. It's the most interesting inner cut mammoth ivory I've seen in a long time (although my wife would say that her Mnandi's ivory is better . . . she's so competitive.) I don't think I'll carry this one. It's hard to displace my small classic w/ cocobolo inlays for the small sebbie rotation spot. The durability of the cocobolo, and the ergonomics of the classic -- just doesn't get any better for me as an EDC.

My grandfather was a famous rockhound here Idaho. We have several of his specimens in our back yard, and they are a favorite photo backdrop for my knife shots. I'm a Nikon guy -- this one was with a D200, w/ an 18-200 VR. Not the greatest lens for shots like this, but it does an fair job for virtually every situation.

Jos, as soon as I wrote about my wife's knife, I was thinking the same as you. If I can pry it from her fingers , I'll get a shot of the two of them together.
