I am getting excited at the prospect of going to the 2008 SHOT Show in January. I have a Press Pass, and my camera will be ready to roll. :D

I have made it a tradition, since the 2004 SHOT Show, to pay for my dad to come along with me. I buy his airline ticket, and take care of our hotel room. His main interest has been Cooper Arms' reception, but they will have a booth at the 2008 SHOT Show. My dad and I are both big fans of their rifles, and use them for varmint (aka, prairie dog) and larger game hunting. My dad has about twenty of their rifles. But, I have only ten. :grumpy:

Anyway, at the 2007 SHOT Show I stood in line to meet "The Gunny" at the Glock booth, and came across a unique photo opportunity:

His lady assistant, probably a Glock employee, used my camera to take that photo. Apparently, I looked a bit too much like Private Joker, so he seized the opportunity. Anyway, 'Gunny' ordered me to bring back a print next year to have it signed. I have two 8x12 prints ready to bring along, ne to give to him, and one for him to autograph.:thumbup:

Private Lunde. On your knees. Now choke yourself.

Classic. I just watched Full Metal Jacket last night. The scene where Gunny makes Pyle choke himself is funny at first, then it becomes quite disturbing. Classic Kubrick.

I love this sequence from the Pull-up Bar scene in FMJ

Gunny - "And one for the comandant."
Kid does the pull-up

"Now one for the Corps."
Kid can't do it.

"Guess the Corps doesn't get theirs!"

Thats hilarious, Sweet picture,
I need to kick myself in the A** and slow down buying infi so I can save up $ for a plane ticket to go to Blade so I can buy infi in person . I kinda contradict myself don't I. It would also be interesting to meet all you proclaimed HOGS in person !

That sweet. It still do a double take when I see a picture of you and its not Mr. Data. I've associated the two of you together for a while.

That's classy of you to bring a glossy for him too.

Did you photoshop his eyebrows and eyes to look that crazy? He's kinda scary!

sirahren, you wrote:

The only thing I did in Photoshop was to add the text in the upper-left corner of the photo.

There is a good story about this photo. Given the amount of luck that had to be on my side to be at the right place and the right time, for those expressions to be captured, a balance needed to be made. And, it did. As I was walking away from the Glock booth, minutes after getting this photo, my wife called me to tell me that she just got her first speeding ticket.

It reminded me of "The X-Files" Seventh Season episode entitled "The Goldberg Variation."
