This year I was lucky enough to be asked to make the raffle knife for the first ABS San Antonio Expo. I recently finished it and then sent it along to Paul Long for a sheath. Even though I didn't get any pictures, Paul did. Please excuse the picture quality. Paul sent these to me just to show me what the sheath looked like with no idea I'd post it on the forums. While at blade the knife will be shot professionally and I will update this with the new pics after blade.

This knife will be at my table at Blade where you can buy raffle tickets. The knife is my take on a Daniel Searles bowie. This is not an exact reproduction but instead a spin off of it.

The blade is a three bar composite Damascus at 8 1/2" long. The guard and butt cap are matching Damascus with stainless and sterling silver fittings. The handle is African Blackwood with sterling silver pics and escutcheon plate. After the Blade show Steve Dunn will engrave "ABS San Antonio 2009" on one of the the escutcheon plates. The other plate will be left open for the winner of the knife to have engraved with their name or something else.

Please stop by my table and buy a raffle ticket. This is to support the ABS show. You will also be able to buy them online shortly after Blade. Thank you.

I really want to see some larger images of this knife. It looks to be one of the nicest Searles style bowies that I have seen. Will you have it at your hammer-in or will it be with Steve Dunn?

Thanks for the compliments guys. Keith I will have it at the hammer-in. Steve is going to have it done before then, he just might not know it yet!

I look forward to seeing many of you at Blade. Thanks,

Josh - You are moving on to a different level with the last few you have posted (esp. the searles and the fighter) ...... your hitting that magic spot where design, vision, and execution are meeting in perfect harmony. Congratulations.

Stephen

Josh looks like you will become one of the greats. You do really nice work and you do it in many styles. You have a gift, my friend and I think your'e heading for the top with all of these new surprises. No doubt about it. Keep it up. I am proud to own your peices and be able to support you.

That bowie, although not really my style, is still gorgeous and It looks like you really nailed it perfectly.

My gosh Josh, with a few more years of seasoning I think you will start making some decent looking knives. Keep practicing, and you might actually become a good knifemaker. LOL

Stunning. I can't wait to see it. I don't know where your spin comes in, but that's really nice ...even in the crappy picture.
