Anyone looking forward to this thing?

I've got a deposit on a Dark Grey Trail Edition at my local dealership. I'm hoping it arrives real soon :D

So, anyone else looking at this car or got one on deposit?

You pulled the trigger without seeing one in person? You have Toyota fever.

It is certainly more manly looking than the Highlander, thats for sure. Looks like they have increased the "trunk" capacity to 47 cubic feet, which is a good thing. I think the older 4Runners did not have so much room back there. That sliding rear deck is sorta cool too.

I'm almost in the market for a new or slightly used vehicle, but had written off the 4Runner because of the formerly small "trunk" space. This might put it back on the radar. But my real decision is whether to go with a mid-size SUV or a truck.

The back end has a definite Sequoia flavor.

Yep, it's time to replace my trusty Pilot(144000mi).

To bad they are being delayed here in the US.

Thinking SR5 4x4 with audio pkg. and a few other goodies.

Noodle: i've been a toyota man since as long as i can remember. plus i live in a toyota family :D that may be a good thing or a bad thing but hey, given that my dads avalon has gone almost 300,000km and 15 years, with only a bit of work on the engine makes me a toyota guy. i was originally looking at the FJ cruiser as an off-roader but after i test drove one i really felt the blind spot by the huge C-pillar in the back.

Cigar: yeah i've read on another forum about the delay on the shipment. this is making me very very mad :(

Noodle: this might sway you to the dark side :D

I was thinking about getting one of theose new station wagons, but they look like the designer was myopic and they have too many electronic doo-dads.

The design is too busy with what I've come to call "tough lines". I guess that is a response to the "anti-jellybean" movement. Nooks and crannies, lines that emulate pushbars, etc.

Most automobiles, even the cheapies, just have too much electronic stuff for no purpose related to actual driving. Great when they work right, sucking when they malfunction.

still, i've been waiting to buy a 4runner for a long time and i believe it will be fun on the trails and FSRs so hopefully that'll be the case :D

Two years ago while vacationing in New Mexico I rented a 4Runner for a week and fell in love. Awesome vehicle, I hope the new ones are just as good. It will definitely be my next transport.

i fell in love with one back in '96 :D.

been waiting ever since.

Toyota quality has slipped, at least with the ones built in Austin. My 2007 Toyota Tundra is a great pickup but, they certainly cut some corners that they should not have cut. The bed dents easily, the tailgate is weak (originals were only rated for 200#'s), and the paint is extremely thin and easily scratched. A run away shopping cart in a parking lot will dent the chrome bumper fascia's.

glad the 4runner is being built in japan then. hopefully the quality will remain there.

i was looking over the 2009 IQS by JD power and associates and did notice that drop in quality from toyota and honda. its amazing that hyundai is ranked fourth in the world, way above toyota and honda. i see more and more hyundais on the street here now adays and heck, half of them dont look that bad.

still, i've been dreamin about this car since as long as i can remember so heres to hoping it gets here sooner :D

Thats to bad about Toyota and Honda quality slipping.
It took years to build a reputation like they had, and a short time to destroy it..

my buddy had an '89 corolla gts that ran as good as the day he got it. he drove it up until last year when someone smashed into his car and he had to get a new one. he bought a '96 civic to replace his corolla but isnt happy with it because it drives worse than the corolla that he bought 7 years ago.

Love them Forerunners.

We have a '99 limited 4Runner in our family. The damn thing goes everywhere and anywhere and is as solid as the day we got it.

If I had the moola I'd buy a 2010 trail edition for sure.

On a side note we have an '08 Tundra as well. Time will tell if that vehicle serves us as well. Chips in the paint on the hood EVERYWHERE.
