Thanks to Buddy Thomason for this snap.

I want to congratulate and support RJ Martin for continuing to build the highest quality folder for 'Best Tactical' submission--winning year after year. This year his 'Vindicator' (with the 'Rampage' blade grind) Had it all: Superb F&F, incredible open/close action, and secret milled pockets all inside the frame for lightening an already-light ti-based folder.

Hopefully Randy has a photo. I literally didn't get to his in time before he had to go. :grumpy:

Others? Let's discuss.

Coop - As always - thanks for the information. Pics anywhere of the winning knives?

Thanks Coop / Buddy - I've been hoping someone would get us the complete list. This is by far the easiest way to do it. Congrats to all the winners.

...how many years is it now for RJ? Six? Shouldn't that qualify for an award, too?

John White had me bring my Dogbone Bowie to Blade. I'm glad I did since it won "Best Damascus". It is a 6-bar "Turkish Twist". The blade has chatoyance that cannot be seen in a photograph.

He had another Dogbone which was pretty much a match except it had a Blackwood handle. He called it his "Sinister Dogbone", but I called it "the Evil Twin". It had a beautiful Paul Long sheath with it. John is making me a wooden sheath of Cocobolo for my Dogbone.

I had Coop shoot this knife and John had Chuck Ward shoot it. Since it won at Blade there will also be a Point Seven image. I not only have a great knife but some great photos as well.

Here's Coop's images:

Vince Evans.

That Tad Lynch Bowie will be seen again. I guarantee it. :)

Fantastic! After looking around at what was there I didn't see anything even close to his work but I wondered... I mean they've given that award to some pretty questionable picks a couple of years...

Yunno,

First, I saw the knife R.J. won with, and it was an amazing honey of a knife, fired like a rocket, surgically clean grinds and awesome lightness....did NOT see a lot of the other knives in contention.

Let's just say that there was a lot of my friends and acquaintances that think because Les Robertson is a dealer of R.J.'s knives and a judge that something stinky is afoot.

I own 4 RJ Martin tacticool knives, and they are all of the best quality, design and execution. Les is but one judge on the panel, and if you have ever seen him in action it is doubtful he could sway other opinions....I say R.J. earned every one of his four awards for Best Tactical by MAKING the best tactical knife submitted for judging.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

It sure should. But in turn qualified for a lot of jealousy and complaints:rolleyes:I figure RJ more than deserves the amount of consecutive awards he received!!

Well, if Les were the ONLY judge, they MIGHT have a point. Otherwise, the only smell I am getting is sour grapes.

STeven,
I agree with Roger regarding your statements. Truth told, I immediately thought the very same thing before I even got down to his post. Sour grapes? That is putting it very mildly.

The above posts have peaked my curiosity.
How many judges are there and who were they?

I don't guess it's a secret, or is it?
