Just wondering if anyone has got one yet? I'm jonesing for one and see that some sellers on e-bay have them and figured a blade forumite or two must have picked up one or two. Before I pulled the trigger on it though just wanted to hear some reviews . How does it feel in the hands, sharpness out the box, weight pocket ride etc. BTW thingking of plain edge clip point in particular ,so if you have this one I definitely want to hear what you think.

I've have the pe clip point for about a month now. I personally like it better than the original. Better lock imho, thinner in the pocket but seems as robust or more so due to the lock. The only thing I did was to sand off the g10 as it is very grabby. Would wear a pocket very quickly. Probably the sharpest knife out of the box I have ever owned too. Grinds are perfect and lock up is SECURE. All that being said I haven't carried it since I recieved a couple of Duncans and my Black Rhino. It seems to me to be alot of folder for the money spent. Give Mike Sastre a shout as that is who I recieved mine from, he is a dealer for CS, great service and a very very decent price. I am waiting for the Voyager line to come out too. keepem sharp

ps I think the clip point is slightly different too. I would have to verify it agains my old Recon but it seems a bit more refined for lack of a better term.

Longbow, does it have the aluminum liners like the Voyager series or is it full G10 frame?
Thanks,
K

S.S. liners embedded in the g10 but it is still pretty thin and not as heavy. It is really a pretty nice knife for 60 bucks. keepem sharp

Definitely jonesing more now , just have to convince the wife I need another knife, on the other hand fathers day is coming up. I dont' think I'll make it that long though.

I will most likely purchase one when they are available through dealers. I think the triad lock is proving to be one of the most, if the the most reliable lock on the market. I really like the looks of the new recon 1. It is a little larger than what I usually go for in a folder, but I think it will be a great all around folder. Really looking forward to it.

longbow,
you mention that the Recon has stainless liners embedded in the G10? So the stop pin and the action is supported not only by the G10, but also by the liners?
I'm wondering because the American Lawman used to have liners, now it's G10 only! Thanks

I take back the part about the liners. I assumed it had liners but looking at it in the sunlight it appears that it is liner less. It is very stiff in that you can't make the scales bend in but I do believe it is liner less. I am kind of embarrassed as I never really checked. I haven't had it apart at all and was assuming because it was so stiff it had liners but it doesn't. I personally don't care mind you but am embarrassed at myself for saying it did when it doesn't, keepem sharp

I want one, I've been harassing the local gun shop in town for the arrival date (I'm friends with the guys there) and we all want to play with one and fondle the new handle shape :o

Hopefully my supplier will have them in soon :)
