just getting some new threads going here.

Here's a WIP, needs polishing and burnishing. Custom leather for one of Ariel's outstanding blades:

Wow, that looks great!!! How about pics of the other two? I'll hopefully make it over in the next couple days.

I'm messing around with the lighting- that's actually a little dark because of the time of day, which is why I didn't do the other two. (check out the alsakan in the projects thread and the updated wenge roachbelly listing)

I just realized today that my bathroom, of all places, has white walls and a skylight. And a convenient slot to put the tripod, so now I'm trying to improve the shots a bit.

Looks good. Man, I really like that dfarmer. I wonder what he'd trade for it.

Well, we should put photos of that one up, as well.

I'm SURE David would make you one......

here's some more shots, a bit better:

First, two of Ariel's knives:

Explorer model sheath:

And an expedition sheath on a smaller blade:

And a Scrapyard blade with an explorer, nice fitting job Koyote Girl did, despite the retention snap the knife really clicks into place.

Now that it has some of the sweetest leather around, that one is gonna have to stay with the freakshow.... But other are always possible. I know the maker;)

The photosgraphed ones are KG, though I did soem of the stitching once she marked them. Right now most sheaths are about 50/50.

Christof,

Do you like making sheaths? Before, I didn't want anything to do with sheath making...not sure why. Once I made the sheath for my first knife, I realized that it was somewhat enjoyable. Did you see the sheath I made?

I haven't seen the sheat, I don't think.....

I do enjoy making sheaths when I have the right workspace. Right now it's a bit annoying because of the incessant 30mph wind and multiple inch storms. The porch is leaking too much and... well. No way to fix it until 1: the weather stops and 2: I move all my shop stuff out of the way. And it's a rental and we're moving this year!!!!

I made a stitching horse and love listening to survival podcast (well, yelling at Jack's lack of ability to focus and write a decent script, while enjoying the actual meat of the content) and NPR news while stitching. I enjoy the design and waterforming aspects, too. Not so hot on the welt glue ups, but I'm just not as good as Sierra at that.

I'm also going to miss her checks and balances on my design ideas. I'll just have to use the forum more for that :D

not bad at all, though. sturdy and you can tell some good methods were followed

I like the placement of the snap on that Explorer-style sheath. Nice work Sierra!

yeah, the new snap placement helps a lot with the draw and reseathing. Very smart move.

We just finished a set for a customer-

Sierra added a little something to the slim finn on this one.

Expedition sheath has a dedicated square D ring holder with snaps for mounting, and the belt loop is solid with a stud closure for the dangler, so it's possible to take off without unstringing your belt.

Also came with a full flap outback sheath, which I find really handy as the ultimate keeper.
